The Preemie Foundation

Born early.

Protected longer.

The most dangerous weeks for premature babies often begin after leaving the hospital.

Premature birth is one of the leading causes of infant death worldwide. In Uganda, many babies who survive the hospital remain extremely fragile in the weeks that follow. Hospitals are often overwhelmed, and mothers are frequently discharged with infants who still require intensive care but have insufficient breastmilk, little support, and limited access to safe housing. Without consistent feeding, warmth, and careful monitoring, these babies remain at high risk. The Preemie Foundation exists to help mothers protect and care for these babies during this critical period.
